• Bachelor of Music, Acadia University (Sept 2021 – May 2025) Principal Instrument: Electric Bass | Dean's List (3.8 GPA)

  Comprehensive training in music theory, performance, and academic research. Specialized in electric bass, jazz ensemble, and contemporary composition. Studied composition with Dr. Derek Charke, including electronic music and applied composition. Eight semesters of applied electric bass guitar with Nicholas D'amato. Diverse coursework in theory, global music, gamelan, and advanced music studies.

• Creative Music Workshop 2025 Student Performance – Halifax Central Library Jerry Granelli Scholarship recipient. Participated in an intensive interdisciplinary workshop focused on improvised music.

• Student Composer Recital – Acadia University (March 2025) The Future Mono (2025) for Jazz Trio, Miniatures I for Solo Piano (2024), Frost (2025) for Solo Electric Guitar.

• Mitchell McFadgen Trio (August 2023 – Present) Guitar trio performing standards, arrangements, and original compositions at venues including Trident Cafe, Halifax Brewery Market, and Gus' Pub.

• SUPERVI11AIN (Sept 2023 – Present) Drum and bass duo performing live music influenced by jazz fusion, metal, and electronic genres.

• Doublespeak (Sept 2022 – Present) Quartet performing original singer-songwriter compositions across pop, R&B, and country genres.

• Acadia Ableton Live User Group (Sept 2023 – Sept 2024) Founded and led a club for electronic music production and performance, culminating in collaborative composition and live performance.

Experience #

• Summer Staff – Charles McDonald Concrete House (May 2026 – July 2026) Eight-week summer stint at the Nova Scotia heritage site.

• Concessions Manager – Al Whittle Theatre (August 2025 – Present) Manage concessions operations at the Al Whittle Theatre, continuing from the 2025 summer co-op role.

• Summer Student – Acadia Theatre Co-op (May 2025 – July 2025) Assisted management of Al Whittle Theatre, created promotional material, and managed ticket/concession sales.

• Sound Technician – Acadia University (October 2024) Live mixing and sound reinforcement for Canadian Percussion Network conference, including complex electro-acoustic performances.
